After his ex-girlfriend disappears, Sidney, a glam rock dilettante, is forced to look after his 11-year-old son full-time. His 'cool dad' facade quickly falls apart and his life goes into full tailspin as he struggles to let go of his rock-and-roll lifestyle.

“Tomas Pais brings a thoughtful energy to Sidney, upbeat but with occasional flashes of quiet desperation and his trajectory feels measured, realistic and, as with all good stories, emotionally satisfying.” – Eye For Eye

"A certifiably oddball but legitimate take on the modern dysfunctional family."–The Hollywood Reporter

"Good, honest performances, especially from Pais and young Holdener, who make a credible, if unorthodox, father-son unit — even if in the real world, child protective services would likely be nipping at Sidney’s high heels. " –The Hollywood Reporter

"Hunky Dory is an opulent, gender-bending and audacious feat." –Slug Magazine

Recommended for ages 13 and up. All patrons entering the theater must have a ticket regardless of age. Student, senior and military discount available. SMDCAC 16/17 subscribers enjoy complimentary tickets to the screening. Contact the SMDCAC Box Office for details.
