All Part of a Brand-New Cabaret Series Presented by Mercedes-Benz of Cutler Bay
(MIAMI, October 15, 2012) – Virtuoso Cuban musician Pedro Alfonso, who has played with the likes of Gloria Estefan, Shakira and Juanes; and Siempre Flamenco, an acclaimed South Florida-based group of flamenco musicians and dancers perform at South Miami-Dade Cultural (SMDCAC) in the month of November as part of the Center’s brand new Cabaret Series sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Cutler Bay. Pedro Alfonso and his extraordinary group of musicians create a variety of styles and rhythms taking the audience on an unforgettable journey with soundtracks of blues, tango, Cuban son and Latin jazz. Their November show is called Jazz and World Percussion and plays on Friday, November 2, 8:30pm and Saturday, November 3, 8:30pm and 10:30pm. Siempre Flamenco presents a traditional Spanish-style tablao called Café Cantante. This is the way flamenco was meant to be seen in a relaxed nightclub setting with shows on Friday, November 16, 8:30pm; Saturday, November 17, 8:30pm and10:30pm and Sunday, November 18, 3:30pm Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the show. All performances take place in the intimate Black Box Theater, with food and drinks available for purchase.
Future shows lined up for Pedro Alfonso and his musicians include Flamenco: Spanish Heritage on Friday, January 4, 8:30pm and Saturday, January 5, 8:30pm and 10:30pm; Tango Concept on Friday, February 1, 8:30pm and Saturday, February 2, 8:30pm and 10:30pm; Violin and Comedy, Friday, March 1, 8:30pm and Saturday, March 2 at 8:30pm and 10:30pm; and South American Fusion (from Brazil to Cuba), Friday, April 5, 8:30pm and Saturday, April 6, 8:30pm and 10:30pm
Siempre Flamenco will perform again with a Jazz and flamenco fusion performance called FlamenJazz Jam on Friday, February 22, 8:30pm; Saturday, February 23, 8:30pm and 10:30pm; and Sunday, February 24, 3:30pm.

Other performances during the Cabaret Series include The District Stage Company with Broadway favorites (December 28-29 and March 29-30); acclaimed jazz singers Rene Marie (January 25-27) and Connie James (May 24-26) as well as the accomplished musicians from the Gypsy Swing band Hot Club of San Francisco (April 26-27).
